Coquet Camperway began as a small yard beside the River Coquet, where a few travel-minded friends kept their lightweight trailers. They noticed that most hire options in northern England were designed for mass tourism rather than simple, quiet exploration. From those first evenings in Morpeth, the idea grew into a service that treats each journey as a relaxed local passage instead of a rushed holiday.
Our team focuses on practicality and pace. Every trailer in our fleet is compact, safe, and ready for narrow roads that curve through moorland and stone-walled villages. Rather than pushing long-haul itineraries, we suggest gentle day loops between farms, coves, and woodland car parks where visitors can pause, brew tea, and listen to the wind.
We also recognise how much Northumberland’s environment shapes each trip. Coastal fog, rain on limestone, and quiet lanes around Rothbury all require awareness and flexibility. That is why we write route notes that change with the season—simple advice on gradients, surfacing, and nearby repair stops, all reviewed with local input before publication.
Behind the trailers stands a small workshop managed by Emily Carter and Owen Reed. They check lighting, hitches, tyres, and interior fittings between hires. Each unit is washed, aired, and restocked with basic cooking items and a safety torch. Because our hires often overlap with events or festivals, we also keep late-return bays so customers can drop off outside regular hours when arranged in advance.
Our planning desk, led by Sophia Hale, looks after mapping and timing notes. Her background in environmental geography helps us design routes that avoid over-visited viewpoints and highlight lesser-known heritage paths. She keeps close contact with ranger offices and parish councils to ensure our guidance respects both access laws and community rhythm.
The wider aim of Coquet Camperway is to make trailer travel accessible without excess or waste. We reuse fittings where possible, recycle materials, and source spare parts from British suppliers. Every kilometre you travel helps support local garages, bakeries, and farm shops along the route. We like to think of our service as a quiet link between travellers and the landscape they move through.
If you plan to hire with us, you will meet the same people who maintain the trailers. We encourage open questions about towing, road rules, or campsite etiquette before you confirm a booking. Our Morpeth base remains small by design—large enough to serve, small enough to listen.
